Trish is Trashed

A SECRET ALLIANCE BACKFIRES: TRISH ELIMINATED

Trish DunnAs SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS pushed forward, the down-on-their-luck Drake tribe lost their third Immunity Challenge in a row, leading them to vote Trish Dunn, the 42-year-old sales executive from Annapolis, Maryland, out of the tribe by four votes to two. Trish tried in vain to form an alliance at the last minute, but Drake chose to have her say goodbye instead. After Trish's expulsion, she explained, "I didn't see this coming at all, obviously. But, I always knew that anything can happen and so I really never took anything for granted."

DRAKE LOSES A MASCOT WHILE MORGAN GAINS ONE

Ryan O. protects PeteIt was a sad morning in the Drake camp when the tribe mascot Balboa, Rupert's baby pet snake, was found dead in his little bag. But, as Drake lost their mascot, Morgan gained one of their own. Pelican Pete, a local pelican, invited himself into the tribe against the wishes of Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, Massachusetts. As he threatened Pelican Pete with a machete, the rest of the tribe laughed at Osten's fear of animals. "I believe Osten is afraid of it. It pisses me off. Like if you're afraid of the jungle and you're afraid of the sea and you're afraid of birds… Know what? Don't even come out here," complained Ryan Opray, the 31-year-old electrician from Los Gatos, California.

TENSIONS ERUPT AT DRAKE

Shawn complainsFollowing Rupert's advice, Drake worked to raise the floor of their shelter. The incessant complaining by Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales from New York, New York, angered Jon Dalton, the 29-year-old art consultant from Danville, Virginia, to the point of yelling. Jon wasn't the only member of Drake who questioned Shawn's work ethic. "Maybe Shawn should get a clue that he's not anybody's buddy here. That he has to get whatever has to happen done. He needs to make sure we win the challenge or he's going home and that's it," noted Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, Washington.

REWARD CHALLENGE: READY AIM FIRE

Trish takes aimAs the tribes met for the Reward Challenge, Host Jeff Probst explained that the challenge involved firing cannons like the pirates of old. The first tribe to hit all their designated targets would win. The reward consisted of a grill, spices, lobsters and steaks. The reward also allowed the winning tribe to loot one item from the losing tribe's camp. And, if Morgan were to win, they would receive the second piece of the map to their buried treasure

As the challenge began, the cannons fired loudly. It was a very close competition, as it came down to Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Illinois, who needed to hit his target to collect the Morgan win. Alas, Andrew missed the target, paving the way for Christa Hastie, the 24-year-old computer programmer from Los Angeles, California, to blast her target with a cannon ball. Drake was triumphant once again.

DRAKE REAPS REWARDS

Jon chows downCelebrating their victory, Drake returned to camp in high spirits. They grilled up their mouth-watering steaks, and then enjoyed the feast into the night. As morning broke, Jon made the victorious trek over to Morgan to loot the tribe's water pot. Jon even enjoyed a shampoo thanks to the hospitality of the Morgan tribe. While at Morgan, Jon also mentioned that Drake lost a recent Immunity Challenge on purpose. "I think that's just nonsense and I think it's bad sportsmanship for him, the little bastard, to indicate that we didn't, fair and square, win that challenge," noted Andrew.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: PULL YOUR WEIGHT

Rupert weighed downAs the tribes reconvened for the Immunity Challenge, Jeff Probst explained that the castaways would have to utilize strategy as well as endurance in order to win. Tribe members from each tribe would be forced to hold a pole up on their shoulders behind their neck. Periodically, weight would be added to the pole. Members of each tribe would determine to which of the opposing tribe members' poles the weight would be added. The last tribe standing would win immunity.

Rupert BonehamMorgan immediately chose to add all the weight to Rupert's pole while Drake preferred to distribute their weight allotment among the Morgan castaways more evenly. The Morgan tribe's strategy proved to work as Rupert buckled under the weight. In the end, Christa couldn't compete against two Morgan men as she collapsed from the weight of her pole. This proved Morgan's strategy wise, as Andrew's determination sealed their victory.

INFIGHTING AND BACKSTABBING

Trish schemesBack at the defeated Drake camp, the tribe dealt with the inevitability of the night's looming vote. In a clandestine meeting, Trish lobbied to form an alliance to vote out Rupert due to his strength, power and likeability. The alliance needed Shawn to complete the plan.

Drake Tribal CouncilHowever, wind of this covert plot made its way back to Rupert, who orchestrated a secret alliance of his own. Since her plan backfired, Trish was voted off in a four to two vote, and became the sixth person to be ousted from SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS.

Trish's Last Words
just want to say that this has been the greatest adventure, probably, of my life. Hats off to the Drake Tribe, good for you guys--you kept the secret, and that's the beauty of this game. You just never know what's going to happen, and when it's going to happen. I knew that going into this game, and I think you guys are all great. I hope one of the Drakes ends up winning the million dollars, and you know, I still consider you guys friends

OUR ROUNDUP
Ahhh we sat here holding our breaths as they voted knowing it would be a Trish /Rupert Split.. Yes we agree get rid of the tougher oppponants but not this early in the game nor at the expense of losing the strongest and most useful of your tribe, until merger hes the most useful person on the damn island.
Trish jumped the gun she got  alittle bit cocky and was stunned to see her name being pulled out of the urn,  she should have stayed loyal to her tribe instead of taking the initiative this early to get rid of a fellow tribesmen who is of the most use..
Shame Shame Shame.. no loss what the hell did she do for the tribe anyways?

All votes on Jon to be the next Gone hes nothing but a sneaky snake too!

Michelle Walks The Plank

FAILING TO FAIL: MICHELLE VOTED OUT

Michelle TesauroAs SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS moved forward, the once-dominant Drake tribe lost their second Immunity Challenge in a row, causing them to vote Michelle Tesauro, the 22-year-old student from Pittstown, New Jersey, out of the tribe in a six to one decision. Michelle's failure to feign weakness at the Immunity Challenge angered her tribemates, who chose to send her packing. Shortly after her torch was extinguished, Michelle remarked, "Regardless of all the politics, I wish I could've been here longer, just had more time to kick some butt and really get into the game."

MORGAN FORCED TO MOVE SHELTER

Morgan moves the shelterWith Drake member Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, as a guest, the Morgan tribe moved their shelter in order to avoid the rising tide. The endless debating coupled with long procrastination caused Rupert to observe, "These guys work very hard at not working hard. They fight and argue and bicker and bitch amongst each other so much that I know why it takes them hours to do something."
EVERYBODY LOVES RUPERT

Rupert & AndrewMissing their beloved tribemate, the Drake camp decided to save their final can of Spam for Rupert upon his return from Morgan. Speculation then ensued as to how much information Rupert had been giving the Morgan tribe. "My concern with Rupert is that I'm afraid he's giving up too much information about us and not realizing it," worried Trish Dunn, the 42-year-old sales executive from Annapolis, Maryland.

Raves for Rupert Over at Morgan, Rupert was welcomed with open arms as the big guy taught Ryan Opray, the 31-year-old electrician from Los Gatos, California, how to fish. Despite losing a big fish, Ryan and Rupert still returned with a hefty bounty for the depleted tribe. "Rupert's been a godsend. He's an absolute workaholic, work ethic is impeccable," noted Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Illinois.

REWARD CHALLENGE: PADDLE FOR PADDLES

Paddling for paddles! As the tribes convened for the Reward Challenge, Host Jeff Probst explained that the Challenge involved collecting from the water the rungs to a ladder, as well as retrieving a golden idol hidden in an old Spanish well in the jungle. The first tribe to assemble their ladder and place their golden idol at the top of their designated platform would be the winner. Besides the right to loot one item from the other tribe, the castaways would be playing for a water prize, which consisted of a portable shower, a pot for boiling water, two jerry cans, rain jackets, sponges, shampoo and conditioner. If Morgan were to win, they would also receive the first piece of the map to their buried treasure.

The reason Morgan's ahead? As the race started, the tribes collected the ladder rungs at the bottom of the ocean floor in close competition. Drake lost control of their boat due to the faulty navigating of member Jon Dalton, the 29-year-old art consultant from Danville, Virginia. This made the crucial difference as Morgan quickly assembled the ladder, found the idol and finished the Challenge first to win the Reward.

As Morgan celebrated, Rupert was offered the choice of returning to the Morgan camp to enjoy a shower. But wanting to go home, he opted to rejoin his Drake tribemates immediately.

MORGAN LOOTS DRAKE

For the first time, Morgan had the opportunity to take one item from the Drake camp. Given the honors, Andrew arrived at the Drake camp to loot one crucial item. Because Morgan was almost completely out of food, it was no surprise that Andrew chose to take a bag of rice from Drake. Rupert was very friendly in offering Andrew even more rice than was allotted before Andrew's arrival. Rupert was clearly beloved at both camps, which caused him to theorize, "There is probably a lot of danger in being too much in control of both tribes. Who knows what my own tribe even thinks of me? But if I push too hard, I will end up alienating someone."

DRAKE PREPS FOR THE IMMUNITY CHALLENGE

Michelle tapped to trick MorganUpon reading the Tree Mail inviting them to an Immunity Challenge that most likely involved eating exotic seafood, Drake put their strategy in place. Since Michelle claimed to have a high tolerance for eating questionable food, the tribe decided to use her as a decoy. Michelle would pretend to have trouble downing the fare in order to fool Morgan into choosing her to compete in the case of a tiebreaker or uneven competition. "What we're thinking is the other tribe is going to have to pick one person to drink twice, so we're going to make her be a decoy for all of us," explained Trish.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: SURVIVOR SMOOTHIES

Ready to try Survivor SmoothiesAs the tribes met for the Immunity Challenge, Jeff Probst explained that the castaways would have to spin a wheel, which would determine two ingredients that would be blended together for them to drink. The menu consisted of red shellfish, sardines, razor clams, bleeding clams, sea water, squid, mango, rock oysters, conch, octopus, coconut juice and, of course, a mysterious concoction of Jeff's making. The first person unable to keep their smoothie down would cause their whole tribe to lose Immunity.
Michelle's not squeamishAs the wheel was spun, both tribes bravely gulped down the concoctions one by one, all the way to a tie. But when it came time for Morgan to chose a Drake member, they did not chose Michelle, because she didn't pretend to be squeamish as was previously planned. Instead, Morgan opted to compete against Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, Washington, in the Challenge. Sandra was able to drink her disgusting smoothie, but had a lot of trouble swallowing the sardine chaser, which allowed Darrah Johnson, the 22-year-old mortician from Liberty, Mississippi, to win Immunity again for the Morgan tribe.

ONE DRAKE MUST GO

Drake Tribal CouncilBack at the Drake camp, the tribe dealt with the inevitability of a Tribal Council vote that evening. Feeling vulnerable, Sandra worried she would be sent packing for losing the Challenge. Michelle had a feeling she was also on the chopping block for not following the plan. "I am extremely pissed off at Michelle," complained Jon, "Michelle was planning on pretending as though she would be the worst in the bunch, when in reality she was the best. But her freaking ego wouldn't let her do it."

In the end, Michelle received six out of seven votes at Tribal Council and became the fifth person to be voted off SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS.

MICHELLES FINAL WORDS

Wow, what an amazing experience. Wish I could have been here longer. I wish I could have had more time to kick some butt, and to really get into the game, but for whatever reason, that didn't get to happen. I'm really upset that I came all this way, and I got here, and I'm missing my sister's wedding for this. I wish I would have been able to pay her back by letting her see me down here longer, and really kick some ass, but it didn't happen for me right now. But regardless of all the politics between what had happened, I'm glad that I was a part of it. I had an amazing time, I learned a lot, and I'll always have this experience with me. I think that's all I have to say.

OUR ROUNDUP

Lord who died and made Jon king dick.. GET RID OF HIM, hes such a little dweeb and snake, between him and trish this tribes coming unstuck... Poor Michelle she definantly didn;t deserve this, and i think it was a bad Drake decision. Maybe Michelle should have stuck to the plan but then again its a game of chance and for money. They lost the immunity but then they gave up the immunity last week on purpose, come on tribe think about it!

Bye Bye Burton

BLINDSIDED: BURTON ROBERTS VOTED OUT

Burton RobertsAs SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS twisted forward, the Drake tribe made their first journey to Tribal Council. In a surprise move, the tribe voted out Burton Roberts, the 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco, California with five out of seven votes. Upon leaving Tribal Council, an upset Burton delivered his Final Words. "I'm disappointed beyond what words could explain. But being a strategic player and knowing the threat that I posed, I probably would've done what the majority ended up doing."

SUFFERING THE ELEMENTS

As day 10 rolled in, the tired Morgan tribe faced losing their shelter to the rising tide. With little food to fuel them, they built a breaker wall out of sand. Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Illinois, speculated," I think it's us against everything else out here. Against the surf, against the mosquitoes, against the crabs, against the fire ants…everything."

Burton poses a threat? It wasn't much better at the Drake camp, where stress gave way to emotions as Jon Dalton, the 29-year-old art consultant from Danville, Virginia, exploded into a tirade over work delegation. The unusual dynamic of a full tribe enduring for as long as ten days was taking its toll. Cliques formed. Personalities clashed. "I think because we've won so many Challenges, it's starting to get annoying, because we really want someone to leave," stated Christa Hastie, the 24-year-old computer programmer from Los Angeles, California.

REWARD CHALLENGE: FLOAT-IT NOTES

As the tribes converged for the Reward Challenge, Host Jeff Probst explained that they would be solving a puzzle. Each tribe's puzzle had sixteen pieces: eight pieces buried in the sand and eight hidden out at sea. The tribes had to collect the sixteen pieces and use them to solve the puzzle. The first tribe to put together the giant jigsaw would win a sewing kit, a piece of a map to a buried treasure and the right to loot an item from the other tribe's camp.

Sixth win for DrakeThe race for the puzzle began as a close one until Morgan member Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, Massachusetts, had trouble swimming. As Osten's tribemates rushed into the water to rescue him, the Morgans fell behind in the competition. Just when it looked as if Drake had an insurmountable lead, Trish Dunn, the 42-year-old sales executive from Annapolis, Maryland, began to struggle when digging out the Drake piece, allowing Morgan to make a huge comeback. It was all for naught, however, as Drake assembled their puzzle in the nick of time. Drake continued their winning streak and Morgan lost…again.

DRAKE FINDS TREASURE

Drake digs for treasureWith all three pieces of the map in place, the Drake tribe had a good idea where to look for their buried treasure. After some confusion over finding a spot the map called "Devil's Fork," the tribe hit pay dirt as Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales executive from New York, New York, struck the buried chest with his shovel. The tribe eagerly gathered to see what the bounty contained as they opened the strongbox. Inside they found goblets, candles and candleholders, canned foods, sugar, honey, blankets, coffee beans and, to everyone's pleasure, chocolate. But not all members of Drake were happy. "The blankets smell like crap, the hammock smells like crap, the mosquito net smells like crap. I call it a ghetto Christmas. It's like asking for an Incredible Hulk doll and getting your sister's Ken doll painted green," complained Jon.

DRAKE PILLAGES MORGAN…AGAIN

Morgan's depleted campDesperately needing food, Andrew, and Ryan Opray, the 31-year-old electrician from Los Gatos, California, went to the other side of the island to fish. The rest of the Morgan tribe greeted looting Drake member Trish, who stripped the Morgan tribe of their lantern. Adding insult to injury for the Morgan tribe, the crucial fishing expedition failed miserably as Ryan and Andrew returned empty-handed. "We don't have any energy, we don't have any water: phenomenally frustrating," said Andrew bluntly.

WILL DRAKE TAKE A DIVE?

Burton & Rupert make plansIn a clandestine night meeting, Burton proposed to Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, that they lose the upcoming Immunity Challenge on purpose in order to rid the tribe of one of the women. Rupert reluctantly agreed. "As long as no one else knows, we can run the game," Burton informed Rupert.
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: BOARDING PARTY

Morgan kidnaps RupertWhen the tribes converged for the Immunity Challenge, Jeff Probst explained that it would be a battle of strength and balance. The goal was for both tribes to cross a human checkerboard over the water. When face-to-face with an opposing tribe member, a hand-to-hand clash would occur. Whoever lost their balance and hit the water first would have to start over. The first tribe to get all members across the board would win Immunity as well as a surprise reward.

Morgan with their captiveBecause Drake outnumbered Morgan, they had to sit out three tribe members. Strangely, they chose to sit out two of their strongest players, Rupert and Burton. This choice gave a huge advantage to the Morgan tribe, who won without much competition. For the first time since SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS began, the Morgan tribe finally claimed the Immunity Idol.

Jeff Probst announced that the surprise Reward was the right to kidnap a member of the other tribe until the next Immunity Challenge. Morgan decided to nab Rupert, who boarded the Morgan boat, leaving his Drake tribe behind.

ALLIANCES CLASH

Sandra & the Puppet MasterRyan & AndrewWith so many alliances in place over at the Drake camp, Jon found himself in the pole position as a possible swing vote. As tribemates individually lobbied Jon for his support, he got drunk with power as well as with the whiskey. "I'm having a blast, even more than I imagined," he gloated, "I'm on paradise, and I'm a freaking puppet master!"

In the end, Burton was blindsided by a secret alliance that included his closest friend in the tribe, Shawn. Burton received five out of seven votes at Tribal Council, making him the first Drake member to be voted out of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS.

BURTONS FINAL WORDS

So, I've got to say I'm disappointed beyond what words could explain. But in the same sense, I'll have to say that being a strategic player and knowing the threat that I posed to every individual in my tribe, I probably would have done what the majority ended up doing.

There's no doubt in my mind that any Challenge, physical or mental, when it came to individual Immunity, I would have won hands-down. No doubt in my mind. The tribe realized that, and they did what they had to do. I don't believe it's the right decision at this point in time, but if they didn't do it now, I would have had the cards in my hand to play all the way to the end of the game and make my way to the winner's circle, which I know I could have done.

I had an amazing time out here. I met some great people, albeit I'm not sure if I really know who they are. But it's been absolutely amazing. I've enjoyed every minute of it and loved everyone, and wish them the best. It's going to be a lot harder without me. Challenges are not going to be guaranteed as they were when I was involved. I'd say may the best or strongest or smartest person win, but that's impossible at this point. So good luck to those left, and I'll see you on the other side.

OUR ROUNDUP

Ahh Burton, you were jibbed buddy, yes you are indeed a threat but in reality you really weren't that well liked to begin with. You really managed to piss those off around you. I think you were a good choice to be gone in some ways but in others you were an asset. I think Michelle and John should be where you are  but then thats if i had only the choice of you 3. Trish is a bit of a snake and i don;t trust her,  so the chances of her being around could have been almost as good as yours...

Lets just say: you deserved another week maybe 2 and leave it at that!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Back To Scouts You Go!

TROOP OUSTS SCOUT LEADER: LILLIAN SENT HOME

Lillian MorrisAs SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS forged ahead, the imbalance between the Morgan and Drake tribes widened. Three times was not a charm for the Morgan tribe as the depleted crew was forced to endure yet another dreadful Tribal Council.

Lillian Morris, the 51-year-old scout troop leader from Cincinnati, Ohio, was voted out of the tribe in a five-to-one vote. Lillian simply proved to be the most dispensable member of the already dwindling tribe, which sent her packing on the ninth night. Upon leaving Tribal Council, Lillian reflected on her time spent on the island: "It does seem to be a game of a lot of deceit and a lot of lying…and I'm not really good at that."

MORGAN TAKES INVENTORY

Lillian at workAs day seven dawned, the exhausted Morgan tribe quietly pondered their misfortunes. For the wounded crew of castaways, it was a time for reflection, prayer and sleep. "Every tribemate has an obligation to the tribe that you have to check your mental infirmities at the door, get rid of those, and just suck it up and do what you need to do," noted tribe leader Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Illinois.
DRAKE SEARCHES FOR TREASURE

Drake's dinnerWith the first piece of a treasure map won at the Reward Challenge, the Drake tribe decided to look for the buried treasure. They guessed it was on the shoreline, thus only accessible during low tide. As Drake paddled to a remote part of their island, their spirits were high with possibilities. "I want to find that treasure so bad! It just eats me up that there's a treasure out there with warm clothes or junk food or potato chips or, I don't know, something in there," dreamed Trish Dunn, the 42-year-old sales executive from Annapolis, Maryland.

After much second-guessing, fatigue set in as the search turned fruitless. "Kinda got a little discouraged and decided to take a break and check another time. Hopefully get another piece of the map today so we can get that next clue," explained Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales from New York, New York.

TRIBAL DISSENSION

Tensions flared at the Drake camp as Jon Dalton, the 29-year-old art consultant from Danville, Virginia, lobbied the tribe to have Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, Washington, sit out of the Reward Challenge because he perceived her to be a weak swimmer. Sandra took exception to his claims, causing a trivial argument to grow into a full-fledged shouting match. "I got a mil that says she won't be the final one," laughed Jon about his new nemesis Sandra.

REWARD CHALLENGE: SPRUNG A LEAK

Sprung a LeakAs both tribes converged for the much-anticipated Reward Challenge, Host Jeff Probst explained the rules. Each tribe was given two boats and a fisherman's grappling hook. The Challenge involved a boat war in which the goal was to sink both the other tribe's boats. They could use the hooks to remove plugs that had been inserted into holes along the sides of each boat. Removing the plugs would force water to rush into the boat, ultimately sinking it. The last tribe floating would win a bounty of blankets, mattresses, pillows, a piece of a map to the buried treasure and the right to loot one item from the other tribe's camp.

The four boats converged upon each other, and the battle was underway. When the tribes frantically clashed in a flurry of splashing water, one of Morgan's crafts drifted away. The Drake tribe seized this opportunity to create a two-boat-to-one advantage. The first Morgan boat to sink was Osten's. Drake's strongman, Rupert, exerted his strength on the remaining Morgan craft, thus securing the Drake victory. Yet again, the Drake tribe won.

THE EARLY BIRD LOSES THE HOOK

Lillian lost the hookLicking their wounds, the distraught Morgan tribe returned to camp for an uncomfortable night of sleep. Despite her good intentions, Lillian made matters worse by waking early to go on a solo fishing trip and lost the tribe's last remaining fishing hook. "I'm pissed. She's being a little bit impatient about the whole issue of going fishing. If she waited just that little bit, I would've been willing to go with her, but next thing you know she's gone, and I wasn't too happy about it," noted Ryan Opray, the 31-year-old electrician from Los Gatos, California

DRAKE LOOTS FROM MORGAN

Morgan conferenceDeciding not to look for treasure, the debate at Drake camp turned to what item they should loot from the Morgan tribe. Feeling guilty but decisive, the Drake crew decided they should steal Morgan's water pot. Christa Hastie, the 24-year-old computer programmer from Los Angeles, California, went to do the looting.

When she arrived at the Morgan camp, Christa was met with a barrage of questions about the Drake crew. "I didn't tell them anything," Christa exclaimed as she left the Morgan tribe in destitution, "At least, I was trying not to tell them anything. It was just really hard. It was overwhelming. It was overwhelming. I just wanted to get out of there."

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: PULL YOUR WEIGHT

Hanging aroundAs both tribes reconvened for the third Immunity Challenge, Jeff Probst explained that this Challenge would be a test of both strength and endurance. Although most of the tribe members would start the competition, the showdown would eventually come down to just two castaways, one from each tribe. The strongest member of each tribe would have to suspend the smallest member above water via a rope-and-pulley system. The first person to drop the rope, along with the dangling tribe member, would lose the Challenge and Immunity for the tribe.

TROOP OUSTS SCOUT LEADER: LILLIAN SENT HOME

Rupert is resoluteOne by one, members of each tribe were excused from the Challenge, until came down to Morgan's Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, Massachusetts, versus Drake's Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana. Both men held strong, grasping those ropes that grew heavier and heavier for over two hours.

Jeff Probst added difficulty to the Challenge, first telling Osten and Rupert that they must stand, then that they had to keep the rope suspended without resting it on the wooden braces in front of them. Finally, a pained Osten couldn't sustain the weight any longer and his smallest tribemate, Darrah Johnson, the 22 year-old mortician from Liberty, Mississippi, splashed into the water, thus handing the Drake tribe another victory.

COUNTDOWN TO TRIBAL COUNCIL

See no evil, hear no evil…Accustomed to this unfortunate decision, the Morgan tribe returned to camp with the daunting task of sending another tribemate home. The dialogue flowed openly as Andrew decided, "The person that is least valuable to the tribe is the one who should go tonight. And whoever that is shouldn't have any problem with it." As Andrew spoke with Lillian, it was no secret that she was on the chopping block. Saddened, Lillian thanked Andrew for his honesty.

When all the votes were counted, Lillian became the third straight Morgan tribe member voted out of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS

LILLIANS FINAL WORDS

My biggest regret is that I didn't stay in longer to represent my beautiful state of Ohio and my city of Cincinnatti. It saddens me that I didn't have the time to say how awesome is the organization that I work with, the Boy Scouts.

It doesn't surprise me, but it does sadden me that the boys would pick a pretty face over someone who is out there working as hard as they could, and fishing and fire-building and water… Not only that, but when I left, I made sure all the waters were filled and that they had wood underneath the shelter in case it did rain. Now, call that stupid!

OUR ROUNDUP

Well okay so she was getting on our nerves ALOT, but even still she was a pretty useful member , it wasn;t like she was making them lose or anything they were doing that quite well without her.
Again we think they failed in eliminating their true weakest link who we still believe is Osten...Is there anything that guy CAN do?

Morgan relinquish their 2nd tribesman

MORGAN CUTS WEAKEST LINK: RYAN S. VOTED OUT

Ryan ShouldersAfter six treacherous days and nights, SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS has lost its second castaway. On night six, the Morgan tribe made their second straight heartbreaking journey to Tribal Council, where they sent home Ryan Shoulders, the 23-year-old produce clerk from Clarksville, Tennessee, in a 5-2 vote. Despite his determination, Ryan was seen as the tribe's weakest link, thus causing him to be let go.

Upon leaving Tribal Council, Ryan summed up his experience, "I think I lost this game in the first five minutes because I didn't make friends with the right people."

SUFFERING THE COLD NIGHTS

Raising the roof"It's very hard to not being able to sleep, it's very hard to freeze every night, and there's nothing you can do about it," remarked Morgan tribe member Tijuana Bradley, the 27-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative from St. Louis, Missouri. The chilly Panamanian nights were taking their toll on most of the castaways, who barely had any clothing. Sleep came with difficulty as the Morgan tribe's morale fell.

Rupert fishes for DrakeOver on the Drake tribe's island, the mood was quite different. Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, provided the tribe with delicious fish. The good spirits flowed almost as freely as the refreshing coconut milk. Making sure that all would continue to stay well, Rupert lectured Burton Roberts, the 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco, California, on the importance of upkeep on the tribe's crucial fishing spear. Rupert explained, "It's more of a pain in the ass for me to give him my spear and worry about it being lost or being, you know, broken or whatever. Man, I will be in trouble, because that's my food."

REWARD CHALLENGE: BOUNTIFUL CHEST

Bountiful ChestAfter receiving Tree Mail inviting his tribe to a Reward Challenge, Morgan tribe member Ryan Shoulders, the 23-year-old produce clerk from Clarksville, Tennessee, let it be known, "Super big one for me. There might not be more pressure for any Survivor, in the history of SURVIVOR, to do well in the Challenge, than me."

This vital first Reward Challenge involved diving for treasure. The tribes were told to dive down into the ocean's depths, retrieve a pre-placed item and put it into their designated treasure chest. When all the items were in the chest, the Survivors as a tribe had to swim the chest into shore.
As Host Jeff Probst handed both tribes a shovel, he explained that there is an actual treasure buried on each tribe's island. Whichever tribe won this Reward Challenge would be given the first of three pieces to a map that would help them to recover this most fruitful bounty. The other Reward in this Challenge was the right to loot one item from the losing tribe's camp.

An exhausted Ryan S. Given a chance at redemption, Ryan Shoulders swam out to sea in order to start the Challenge. He had trouble with his mask as well as with staying underwater, which allowed Drake to take an early lead. Morgan never got back on track as Drake methodically rounded up the treasure without difficulty. Once again, Drake was the winner.

DRAKE PILLAGES MORGAN

Drake campElated, the Drake tribe sent Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, Washington, over to the Morgan camp to take one coveted item. Arriving on the Morgan tribe's island, Sandra got an icy reception. She chose to take the tarp covering the Morgan shelter, which left the Morgans completely unprotected from the rough elements.

Osten wants outWhen the members of the Morgan tribe wouldn't help Sandra take the tarp down, tempers flared and curt words were exchanged. After pilfering from the Morgan tribe's already-meager supplies, Sandra remarked, "You don't know how good you have it until you see others."

While rebuilding what was left of the Morgan shelter, Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, Massachusetts, made the shocking confession that he was thinking of quitting. "We don't need people just walking around [saying] 'I want to go home.' It's a real morale-killer for the tribe," complained Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Illinois.

THE SAGA OF RUPERT'S SPEAR

Shawn has to break the bad newsWhile fishing for the Drake tribe, Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales executive from New York, New York, lost the head of the tribe's precious fishing spear. Nervous, Shawn broke the news to a deeply dismayed Rupert, who was clearly very attached to that spear because of the food it could provide to him and the tribe.

Looking for the equivalent of a needle in a haystack, a disconcerted Rupert took to the water to search for the lost head of the spear. Astoundingly, after looking for some time, he found it! Rupert's thunderous howls of pleasure reverberated throughout the island, letting his tribemates know he was successful.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: ALL TIED UP

The tribes met Jeff Probst for the second Immunity Challenge and listened as he explained the rules. Each tribe would take three members of the other tribe captive. The objective was for the remaining tribe members to save their captive tribemates, then overcome a series of obstacles in order to raise their tribe flag. The first tribe to raise their flag would win the coveted Immunity Idol.

All Tied UpMorgan took an early lead as Andrew freed himself first, then went to the aid of his tribemates. The Morgan tribe came to shore with a huge lead, but Drake didn't give up. As Morgan struggled to get the coordinates to their buried flag, Drake swam ashore with a vengeance.

In another close finish, Drake once again took the competition leaving a crushed Morgan tribe with the unenviable task of sending another tribe member home.

SUICIDE BY TRIBAL COUNCIL

Morgan Tribal CouncilBack at camp in an unprecedented move, Osten surprised his fellow Morgan members by requesting that they vote him off. Pondering her tribemate's unusual request, Tijuana noted, "I was personally upset and disappointed with Osten for quitting. I can't understand. I just can't fathom it."

Osten did not get his wish, however, as Ryan Shoulders received five out of seven votes at Tribal Council and became the second person to be voted out of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS

Ryans Final Words:

Well, I think I lost this game in the first five minutes I was out here, because I didn't make friends with the right people. This is a social tribe: they've got 100 percent social and 0 percent strategic abilities. So I guess that's the way it goes.

But I had a great time, forgetting about those goobers. I had the adventure of a lifetime; it was outstanding. I just want to tell Jeanette and my family how much I love them and miss them. And to all my friends: you guys are awesome! I'm sorry if I let anybody down. It was a cool little ride. Word.

If I could change one thing about what I could have done to make this better for me, I would have tried to make better friends in the first couple of minutes. Right off the bat, I was caught up in the moment, excited about the adventure, and I kept to myself. I didn't go in and start making friends immediately, which is really what you have to do, because the tribe I ended up being with was extremely social. All they cared about was friendships, and they're SO not thinking strategically, which is a big strong point of mine: strategic thinking about SURVIVOR. So I wish I would have just gone with the dumb method and tried to be friends with everybody

OUR ROUNDUP

When one looks at the situation Morgan is in losing both the food and the immunity challenges, you would think the winkest of the tribe should go ..

We think they made a big mistake voting out Ryan S,  Their weakest Link  is Osten, maybe not in Brut strength but he is in many other ways,  Bad choice of person to kick off morgan lets hope you win soon   you cant seem to figure out whos the most valuable or not in the tribe  hence i doubt seriously you'll win much until you start working as a team and getting to know the individuals you sleep on cane with... Bad  leadership on this vote!

1st member Kicked Off and Roundup

Nicole Delma Is Number #1

Nicole DelmaAfter a shocking welcome to their new adventure, the castaways of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS have begun the quest to become the Sole Survivor. On night three, after the newly formed Morgan tribe made their first dreaded paddle to Tribal Council, they voted Nicole Delma, the 24-year-old massage therapist from Hermosa Beach, California, out of the tribe in a seven-to-one vote. Nicole's tell-it-like-it-is attitude and overt attempts to create alliances backfired, thus seeding distrust among her tribemates.

Nicoles Final Words
Well, guys, I can't say this came as a big surprise. I had a hunch that I was going off this afternoon when everything started to fall apart. I knew going in that my biggest weakness was going to be keeping my mouth shut. When I have an opinion about somebody, I just can't seem to keep it in. And that's exactly what did me in. I sort of shot myself in the foot by trying to make an alliance early on to get rid of someone that was just annoying me, which I see now in hindsight is probably not the way to play the game. But I think you all are a great group of people, and are out there to be true survivors, which apparently I'm not. I just didn't really have the drive to keep my mouth shut for as long as I could, even for a million dollars! But I'm glad I came here, and I'm glad I got to meet everybody, and I wish everyone the best of luck. Thanks!

OUR ROUNDUP

Ahh well does it pay to decieve so early in the game?
We definantly think not.Nicole made a big mistake taking her oppinions to a boy scout leader whos all about honour and trust.
If anything she should have gone to someone as  decieving as herself and at least warmed herself up more with other players.

In retrospect, the Morgan Trivbe really suffered with not only stupidity in their initial problems (like not looking on the map for water) but their choice to be followers with Osten in the market place  hunt and barter!
Leaving behind their shoes which were obviously valuable items too barter with was another stupid mistake!

Lets hope they have learned from those  issues in themselves.
The  first challenge was definantly one for the butt gods, and hilarious as it seemed, they also managed too lose, and out there winning is life, so with their naked demise they voted off a snake and are now well behind the 8ball in the game.

The Drake team definantly have confidence and obviously play much better together as a team.
Although survivor is well within the early stages so its hard to make definite predictions so lets enjoy the next few weeks as we watch alies among teams get created, and more so enemies are made.
As we have all become accustomed in this reality game, Happiness is definantly not where the survivors are and theirs always someone who stands out as the most UNHAPPY!
Let the Debarklery continue...

Looks forward to next weeks shows..

Immunity Challenge & Strategy

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: CANNON CARRY

Morgan in the buff! The tribes met Jeff Probst for the first Immunity Challenge, and he explained the rules. As the pirates of Old needed to move and conceal their artillery, so now would the tribes of New. Each tribe was to transport an excruciatingly heavy cannon along a jungle course from one side of the island to the other, negotiating certain obstacles along the way. The first tribe to complete the course would win Immunity and would be safe from the looming Tribal Council.

The race began as both tribes struggled to transport the heavy artillery across the uneven jungle terrain. The Drake tribe took an early lead as they reached their first obstacle and had to disassemble their cannon to advance. Meanwhile, the Morgan tribe fell further behind.

As the Challenge continued, Osten removed his shorts, which had been falling off him for quite some time. In an act of unity, other male members of the Morgan tribe removed their shorts, causing Jeff Probst to declare, "Osten, you are a first, my man. A totally nude Challenge!"

Upon reaching the beach, the Drake tribe got bogged down in the sand as the Morgan tribe took the lead. Just before the finish line, the Morgan tribe's cannon stuck in the sand. They pushed and pulled the enormous object with all their strength, but the sand would not release the cannon, and the Drake tribe regained the lead and crossed the finish line first. The loss would send the Morgan tribe to the game's first Tribal Council, where they would have to vote one of their own out of the tribe.

STRATEGY BEGINS

"When I turned around and saw them idiots bouncing around naked in the mud, in the muck, in the stickers and the thorns, it was hilarious," laughed Drake member Rupert as his tribe returned victorious to their island.

Meanwhile, the mood at the Morgan camp was somber, as 40-year-old attorney Andrew Savage from Chicago inspired his tribe with a pep talk: "We learn from it. We move on, and we kick their butt the next time, and we remember how cocky they were when they won."

Tijuana, Nicole & DarrahFaced with the unenviable task of having to vote out one of their own, Morgan alliances formed, and the finger-pointing began. Nicole conspired to rid the tribe of 27-year-old pharmaceutical rep Tijuana Bradley. Catching wind of Nicole's plot to vote her out, Tijuana confronted her and later stated " As far as Nicole, I think it is enemy status; it's gotten to that point. I can't trust her."

Morgan at Tribal Council"The people that I think are at risk? Skinny Ryan: he just hasn't been pulling his weight at camp or at the Challenge. Nicole, with the high drama today, she's been labeled, in some people's eyes, as being dishonest, so her neck's on the line because we don't know if we can trust her. And Lilly: is her neck on the chopping block? Yeah, she's definitely a contender to being voted off tonight," noted Andrew, as the tribe prepped for Tribal Council.

In the end, it was Nicole Delma, the 24-year-old massage therapist from Hermosa Beach, California, who received seven out of eight votes at Tribal Council and became the first person to be voted out of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS

First Night

FIRST NIGHT PROBLEMS

As night fell, sleep didn't come easily for the Morgan tribe. Rocks fell from above, while hermit crabs bit the members from underneath their makeshift shelter. Uneasy in his new environment, Osten was momentarily shocked when he mistook a vine for a snake.

Morgan on the way homeThe Drake tribe also found sleep difficult, but for far different reasons: they celebrated their new home by getting drunk. As the cheap Panamanian wine was passed around, inhibitions were lowered, especially those of Jon Dalton, the 29-year-old art consultant from Danville, Virginia. The more Jon drank, the more jokes he cracked and the more he annoyed his tribemates. "He talks too much crap, all night long, cursing. He thinks it's cute, but it isn't. It gets old," explained Sandra.

FASHION CLUB

Drake starts their shelterAs morning came, the still-uncomfortable Drake tribe worked together to make their clothing more manageable. Still wearing his heavy suit, Shawn cut his slacks at the knees and made them into shorts. Sandra made shoes of branches, while 24-year-old Christa Hastie, the computer programmer from Los Angeles, cut her skirt in half and supplied Rupert with a new outfit to replace his heavy, wet jeans. "It's done: I'm wearing a dress," Rupert rejoiced, "I'm never gonna put them pants back on!"

WATER AND FISH

Dehydrated and struggling to find water, the Morgan tribe was relieved to find directions to a freshwater well on their map. Upon arriving at the well, Ryan Shoulders and Lillian bonded while filling the canteens. Lillian remarked, "The one person who befriended me with sincere friendship was Ryan Shoulders. Ryan's a good kid."

The Drake TribeMeanwhile, at the Drake camp, the alpha males were emerging. In a battle of providers Burton Roberts, the 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco, California, proudly returned with the tribe's first catch. Not to be outdone, Rupert spent the day spearing fish after fish. "I'm coming out here to be the caretaker. I'm trying to make these people believe that there is no way they can get along without me, and I think I'm doing it, " smiled Rupert.

Market Place Hassling & Hilarity

MARKET DAY

Morgan tries to barterUpon reaching the town, the Morgan tribe chaotically attempted to get supplies while the Drake tribe successfully delegated responsibilities as Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, Washington, used her ability to speak Spanish to barter more effectively with the locals. Another Drake tribe member, Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, seized an opportunity and stole all the Morgan tribe members' shoes as they left this most important booty unattended. Rupert then quickly bartered away the stolen items. "Pirates pillage. Pirates steal. Pirates take advantage. We are pirates, so we pirated," explained the smiling Rupert.

As both tribes continued to barter for necessities, Morgan tribe member Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, Massachusetts, traded all his clothes, except his boxer shorts, in order to help his tribe.

After numerous failed attempts to communicate with the locals, both tribes finally boarded their rented vessels and began the journey to their respective islands, which would serve as their homes for the next 39 days.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Drake takes to the seaUpon arriving at their beach, with little time remaining before sundown, the Morgan tribe split up and delegated responsibilities. While Lillian Morris, the 51-year-old scout troop leader from Cincinnati, Ohio, tended to a fire, Osten found a spot for the shelter.

Meanwhile, over at the Drake camp, unity reigned. Upon arriving on land, they joined hands in a huddle. Shawn shouted, "We're going to have the time of our lives and at the same time, we're going to kick some butt!"

Episode One Survivor Begins : Thrown Overboard

ADAPT OR GO HOME

Aboard a seaworthy craft heading down the angry Pacific waters of Central America, sixteen Americans began the adventure of a lifetime. Anticipating a respite before the actual game was to begin, the castaways were comfortably clothed in suits, dresses, even a Boy Scout uniform. But Host Jeff Probst turned everything upside down when he announced that the game was not going to start the next day or the day after that. Rather, it had already begun. This time, the castaways were going in with nothing but the clothes on their backs!

Man overboard!Shock crept across their faces as the realization hit them that they would truly be stranded. Jeff tossed the castaways' sneakers overboard. With only the clothing on their backs and a sack of Panamanian currency, the two tribes were sent to fend for themselves in a local village, where they would have to acquire anything and everything they would need to survive the next weeks. "I'm wearing an Armani suit. How am I going to get by? What am I going to do with a suit?" questioned Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales executive from New York City.

One by one, each tribe member jumped overboard and swam towards the small fishing village, where their task would be to use the currency they were given to acquire what they'd need to survive for the next 39 days.

"This is beyond what I bargained for. I knew it was going to be the adventure of a lifetime; I didn't know it was going to be this big of an adventure of a lifetime." explained Ryan Shoulders, the 23-year-old produce clerk from St. Louis, Missouri.
